Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking

I recently read the above titled book by Susan Cain. Written by an introvert, she describes how to increase confidence to have the courage to accomplish difficult challenges. There was much to learn but for me it is a wonderful portrayal of the importance of acknowledging and overcoming fears in order to achieve goals.

Susan Cain shares ways to balance between being true to our nature and bringing the gifts that we have into the world. Since reading the book, I have made a concerted effort to step outside my comfort zone and try new things.

Although public speaking brings up some anxiety for me, it is writing for an audience that brings up a much higher level of anxiety. I know what I have to contribute to our world and writing will help me to share these contributions in a new way.

By accepting that writing is difficult for me, I have set goals and created accountability to others. Acknowledging my difficulty has helped me to reach out for support.

What areas in your life need to be acknowledged as difficult or challenging? How can you reach out to get the courage and support that you need?

What creative ventures need to emerge from you?
